Richard Nanawin Jaques

Richard Nanawin Jaques was born 1965, he is a Traditional Ojibwe/Cree Storyteller from Poplar River First Nation in northern Manitoba. His Ookomisan (grandmothers- grandmother) is Ojibwa/Cree from Poplar River First Nation, Manitoba; his Omishoomisan (grandfathers-grandmother) Chippewa from Fond Du Lac Indian Nation, Michigan USA.

Richard is Anishinaabe Aadizookaan (traditional storyteller), his shares the stories of Nanabush and his adventures on Turtle Island. His newest book Nanabush and Other Tales will soon be available for Teachers and students. He is a proud Indigenous Graduate Scholar, a classroom teacher and Indigenous School Principal currently completing his Masters in Curriculum Design and Assessment.
